Liverpool want to make a double swoop on RB Leipzig by snapping up German international striker Timo Werner at the end of season.
Jurgen Klopp will already snap up midfielder Naby Keita from the club in the summer – but will now redouble his efforts for 22-year-old frontman, report the Independent.
Manchester United have also registered an interest in the striker – who has said previously that he prefers a move to Old Trafford.
But this will not put off Klopp, who sees the mobile Werner as an ideal foil to the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
The striker has netted 31 times in 55 games since arriving from VfB Stuttgart.
Mohamed Salah’s price tag rises more than ANY player in Europe since joining Liverpool
Mo Salah has seen his value rise more than any other player in Europe’s top leagues since joining Liverpool last summer.
Egyptian winger Salah’s market value has risen by €74.7m (£66.4m) to €162.8m (£144.3m), according to the CIES Football Observatory.
Salah, 25, is currently the joint-leading Premier League goalscorer, alongside Harry Kane, with 24 goals.
There are six Premier League players in the top 10 with Manchester City pair Ederson and Leroy Sane in second and third in the CIES rankings.
Staggering amount of money Liverpool have already earned in the Champions League this season revealed
Liverpool battered Porto 5-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash, meaning a goalless draw at Anfield saw them progress.
The Reds still have five games standing in their way before they can get their hands on the cup for the first time since 2005.
But they have already made a significant amount of money in reaching the quarter-finals, which, in theory, pretty much pays for Naby Keita.
So far the Reds have guaranteed themselves a staggering £50million windfall from UEFA, which will continue to rise the further they go in Europe.
