Spartak Games Could Be Played Behind Closed Doors
Spartak are being investigated by UEFA over an incident at Maribor
Liverpool are facing the prospect of playing their Champions League tie against Spartak Moscow behind closed doors.
Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Russia for their next game on September 26 but are waiting to hear from UEFA if their fans will be allowed into the ground.
Spartak are facious serious charges after a flare was thrown onto the field during their Champions League game against Maribor on Wednesday night with the missile just missing the referee.
The Russian side will find out their fate on Thursday, just five days before the tie is due to take place, but the game being played behind closed doors is one of the punishments that could be handed out.
The Football Supporters Federation have urged UEFA to avoid that outcome when the hearing takes place and should take into consideration the Liverpool fans who have already spent a lot of money booking the trip to Russia.
Emotional Liverpool Phone-In Goes Viral
An emotional Liverpool fan’s phone-in rant has gone viral after he labeled Jurgen Klopp “a clown” and urged the board to sack him.
The supporter called Frank had rung BBC Radio 5 live’s 606 show after seeing his side draw 1-1 with Burnley and wasted no time in venting his frustration at the Reds boss, report the Liverpool Echo .
During a three-minute call, Frank went all-in on the Liverpool defence and Klopp’s tactics, as he compared the German to his predecessor Brendan Rodgers.
Klopp was described as the biggest clown of the lot
“I’ve had enough now, I’ve actually had enough,” he said. “Do you know what, no disrespect to Burnley. Defence, we said this since the first day he (Klopp) arrived, I can’t understand one thing.
“I want all those Liverpool fans that are listening out there on this radio show that might be heading back home in their cars, and have spent all their hard-earned money, why don’t they ring up this show and say why Jurgen Klopp should deserve to stay there.
“Because we’ve got one of the biggest circuses at Anfield at this moment, at Liverpool Football Club, and at the biggest clown of the lot is Jurgen Klopp.”
