Liverpool will try and make an audacious swoop for Paulo Dybala, according to reports.
The Juventus forward is one of the hottest properties in Europe and could cost around £90million for any potential suitors.
The Sun cite Italian media in saying that the Argentina star is on Liverpool’s radar.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly still on the lookout for a full-time replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who he sold to Barcelona back in January.
Klopp is also allegedly wary of the potential departure of Mo Salah, with Real Madrid said to be interested in his signature.
Mo Salah named PFA Player of the Month for March after six goals in three games for Liverpool star
Mo Salah has been named PFA Premier League Player of the Month for March, writes Mirror Football’s James Whaling.
The Liverpool forward struck six times in three games in the top flight to cement the Reds’ spot in the top four.
He turned in arguably his best display of an incredible debut campaign on Merseyside in the home game against Watford, scoring four times in a 5-0 win.
Salah also netted in games against Newcastle and Crystal Palace either side of the Watford drubbing, taking his league tally to 29 for the season.
The Egyptian is five goals clear of Harry Kane in the race for the golden boot, with Sergio Aguero a further three strikes adrift.
He has 38 goals in 42 games in all competitions so far, with his latest strike coming in the 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League last week.
Salah picked up a slight knock in victory at Anfield and missed the weekend’s Merseyside derby stalemate against Everton.
But the former Roma man should be fit to take his place in the starting XI as the Reds look to seal their place in the last four of Europe’s top tier competition at the Etihad on Tuesday evening.
John Barnes explains Mohamed Salah’s excellent form – and why he probably wouldn’t succeed at Real Madrid
Mohamed Salah has arguably been the Premier League’s best player this season, writes Mirror Football’s Jake Polden.
Liverpool’s £35million summer signing from Roma has been a revelation since returning to England, following a disappointing spell at Chelsea earlier in his career, and possibly the best value-for-money acquisition of the season.
The Egyptian is currently the Premier League’s top goal scorer, having netted an astonishing 29 times with a shots on target percentage of 62 per cent.
Harry Kane – who has won the Golden Boot for the past two years – has netted five less than the Liverpool forward to this point, and, having registered just two assists, has also set up seven less goals than Salah.
As you’d expect, Real Madrid have started to take notice of the 25-year-old, as is often the case when a player begins to take the Premier League by storm.
And Los Blancos have been linked with a big-money move for the Egyptian, who Liverpool may have a job trying to keep hold of in the summer – as they did when Philippe Coutinho had his head turned by Barcelona.
But Liverpool legend John Barnes isn’t convinced moving to Real Madrid would be the best career decision for Salah, despite the obvious pull of getting to play alongside the world’s greatest footballers at the Bernabeu.
“How Jurgen Klopp sends his team out gets the best out of Mo Salah,” Barnes told Mirror Football, on behalf of Bonus Code Bets.
“So if Mo Salah plays for another team I don’t think he’d do as well because, while he’s a great player, he’s actually found the right environment for him to maximise his potential.”
