Liverpool are in a battle with Barcelona to sign £39million rated French star Clement Lenglet with talks set to get underway this weekend.
According to Diario AS, Lenglet who only joined Sevilla last summer from Nancy for £4million, has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe.
Klopp has been linked to another central defender to pair up with record signing Virgil van Dijk and the French U21 international is seen as a key target.
However, they face still competition from the La Liga leaders who want to bring in Lenglet as a replacement for Samuel Umtiti who looks to be heading out the door at the Camp Nou.
Reds dealt Alisson blow
Roma have told Liverpool that they have “zero” chance of landing goalkeeper Alisson this summer.
Club president James Pallotta claims that the Serie A club will not be binning off their prized asset in favour of profit.
Alisson, 25, has been consistently linked with Liverpool over recent months – the team he will come up against in the Champions League semi-finals.
His performances in Europe have been particularly impressive throughout this season.
Roma have not conceded a goal in their last five Champions League games against Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Qarabag, Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona.
