Sam Billings, the wicketkeeper and Dawid Malan, the batsman have been recalled by England to replace Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler in the three-match Twenty20 series against West Indies.
The series is going to start on Tuesday, 5 March and the squad will miss Jason Roy, as the opener will head home to witness the birth of his first child.
Roy is set to leave no later than the end of the final match of the ongoing one-day international series against West Indies.
The 28-year-old batsman had helped England reach the 360-run target in the first match by scoring 123 from just 85 deliveries.
Billings is aiming to prove his worth in the three T20 matches along with his spell in Indian Premier League, in order to secure his place in the summer’s World Cup squad.
He said: “There’s not just 15 guys who are looking for a World Cup spot, there are probably 25-30 guys who could easily get in.”
“There is healthy competition all the way down.”
“It’s in my hands really. I’m actually pretty calm about it, there’s not much I can do apart from enjoy my cricket,” he added.
