The Spaniard has been mooted as a possible successor, with the fledging coach impressing as coach at Manchester City.
But The Sun report the members of the dressing room are not keen on the former Arsenal midfielder taking over.
They report that 35-year-old is understood to not be popular in North London after five-years at the Emirates, with many thinking he’s ‘arrogant’.
Wenger is widely expected to leave Arsenal even at the end of the season – or before if results don’t include.
Their latest defeat came against Brighton on Sunday.
Joachim Low and Carlo Ancelotti have also been mooted to take over.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reached out to a gutted fan following Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
The supporter, who appeared to be sat in an Amex Stadium home stand and wearing a Brighton hat was spotted on TV cameras holding up a sign.
The homemade poster read: “Aubameyang. Can I have your shirt please? #SuperHero #BiggestFan.”
Aubameyang played all 90 minutes as his side fell to their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
The Gabon striker netted with his side 2-0 down just before half-time but was unable to inspire a comeback.
