Arsenal players have made their feelings known about who to replace Arsene Wenger – and they don’t want Mike Arteta as their next boss.

The Spaniard has been mooted as a possible successor, with the fledging coach impressing as coach at Manchester City.

But The Sun report the members of the dressing room are not keen on the former Arsenal midfielder taking over.

They report that 35-year-old is understood to not be popular in North London after five-years at the Emirates, with many thinking he’s ‘arrogant’.

Wenger is widely expected to leave Arsenal even at the end of the season – or before if results don’t include.

Their latest defeat came against Brighton on Sunday.

Joachim Low and Carlo Ancelotti have also been mooted to take over.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s touching gesture to fan at Brighton game

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang reached out to a gutted fan following Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.

The supporter, who appeared to be sat in an Amex Stadium home stand and wearing a Brighton hat was spotted on TV cameras holding up a sign.

The homemade poster read: “Aubameyang. Can I have your shirt please? #SuperHero #BiggestFan.”

Aubameyang played all 90 minutes as his side fell to their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.

The Gabon striker netted with his side 2-0 down just before half-time but was unable to inspire a comeback.

Arsene Wenger arrives for Arsenal training as pressure mounts over his job

Arsene Wenger cut a grim figure as he arrived at Arsenal’s training ground on Monday morning.

The Gunners boss pulled in having led his side to four consecutive defeats in all competitions.

A nightmare few days for Arsenal started with their 3-0 Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley.

Then on Thursday, Wenger’s men lost to the same side by the same result at the Emirates.

The Frenchman’s nightmare week then ended in defeat again as the Gunners crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the Amex stadium on Sunday.

Alan Shearer slams Mesut Ozil’s Brighton display – and says Arsenal players are ‘fed up’

Alan Shearer has claimed Arsenal players have ‘stopped listening’ to Arsene Wenger – and singled out Mesut Ozil for some harsh criticism.

The Gunners have lost four-games in a row for the first time since 2002 and have succumbed to defeat for the eighth time in 2018 after losing 2-1 at Brighton on Sunday.

More calls for the Frenchman to resign or be sacked were rife from Arsenal fans once again over the weekend and Shearer said the Reds boss should be worried about his future.

“Arsene Wenger is sat there looking a very worried man and so he should be,” the former England striker said on Match of the Day.
